Fridays · 4pm to 2am

Thank God it's Friday.

Five days of being reasonable, and then this: a dry-aged steak off a wood-fired hearth, the city's fish fry done right, a saloon bar that doesn't blink until two. The weekend doesn't start when you leave work. It starts when you walk in here.

How Friday goes

One night, three acts.

6PM
A dry-aged steak plated at The SteerA server carrying Buffalo fish fry plates through the dining room

Act one · dinner

Eat like it's the weekend. Because it is.

The hearth is lit and the dry-aged cuts are ready — NY strip, king cut rib eye, the kind of steak you plan a week around. Or do what half of Buffalo does on a Friday and order the fish fry: beer-battered, fresh-cut fries, no notes. Artisan pizza, Beef on Weck, a thirteen-dish vegan menu — the kitchen runs until 10 and it is not holding back.

9PM

Act two · the saloon

The dining room hands off to the bar.

Plates clear, the lights drop a notch, and the long bar becomes the room. Real cocktails, a beer list that knows where it lives, and enough stools that the group chat fits. This is the part of Friday people mean when they say Friday.

12AM
A packed late-night crowd at The SteerThe Steer's sign lit at night on Main Street

Act three · still here

Last call is two. Nobody's checking.

Downtown's doing lines and covers. You're already in, already seated, already three rounds into a conversation that started at dinner. The bar pours until 2am on Fridays, and the walk to the car is thirty seconds.

Why here

Not a bar with a kitchen. A kitchen with a bar.

01

The hearth

Wood-fired, brick, and the reason the steaks taste like they came from somewhere. Dry-aged in-house, finished over real flame.

02

The saloon

A long, honest bar with a back-bar worth staring at, open late on the nights that matter — Friday most of all.

03

The room

Big tables, a patio for the warm months, and a private room for twenty to a hundred when the group chat gets ambitious.
